I've tried both ways-sketching, thinking about composition, asking myself a lot of questions before beginning and I find that I usually end up getting nervous and tight and that is reflected in my painting. It's more important to me to paint frequently and be happy and hope I'm learning the valuable lessons on the way.CHRIS MURRAYhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00902291140734132670noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4441586645353792223.post-31125557541002041102012-02-06T22:55:08.261+00:002012-02-06T22:55:08.261+00:00Thankyou so much Renate,Karla,Liz,Jane,Jaime,Sidma...Thankyou so much Renate,Karla,Liz,Jane,Jaime,Sidmar,Es-jay and Jean!!

I guess we all have similarities in the methods we use.I wish you all success and joy in painting. : )Azrahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09221330558864635232noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4441586645353792223.post-87887480182091674462012-02-06T20:01:57.975+00:002012-02-06T20:01:57.975+00:00This really lovely Azra. I just paint when the spirit hits me and let the muse take over. I am the type of person who has to get right to it, no diddling around. Which means either it comes off or it doesn't, and I live with the results. Sometimes, I paint over it. I guess that is why my paintings run hot or cold. :\Jean Nelson Paintings and Photographyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14265826470226696233noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4441586645353792223.post-26306785779330739382012-02-06T17:49:34.415+00:002012-02-06T17:49:34.415+00:00Hello! I normally have very little preparation as I don't usually sketch the subject, whether it being watercolor or oil, but I am starting to think that maybe it is better to sketch as I do have a lot of ' not so good' stuff, so maybe a bit of preparing isn't a bad idea :-)Janehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06592451071109351862noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4441586645353792223.post-26684726003210061712012-02-05T22:02:49.910+00:002012-02-05T22:02:49.910+00:00Nice work here Azra. I like the warm colors! About the preparing: sometimes I google on the internet to see more photo's of my object. I always have a plan how and where to start and wich colors to use. After that I always think everything over before putting my brush on the paper.renatehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18077172950772463081noreply@blogger.com
