Painting means bliss, escape, joy and so many other positive emotions. Its been nearly two years since I started painting daily, blogging and having contact with all the wonderful artists has saved my sanity ,as these two years have also been very testing times.Just the act of picking up a brush and beginning a new painting creates a little oasis of forgetfulness where I can lose myself.
So,my artist friends,I would like to ask how long have you been painting and blogging and what has it meant for you?

  1. Wow Azra! I love, love love this pear!! Of course I love pears anyway but I love your brushwork and the bold colors. Beautiful!

I have been painting since I was 18 but not seriously until,January of 2010.

I have been Blogger since 2008.

I seriously don't know if I could have soldiered on with my painting if not for the kind support of my blogland friends like YOU!

  2. Azra this pear is so full of life ! Wonderful warm colors.
    I started painting 5 years ago and blogging almost 2 years ago. Painting is simply a necessity to me , I don't drink, I don't smoke...but I paint :-)))

  3. This pear just glows, Azra!

I've been painting for about five years. You and I startedf blogging about the same time -- November, 2010. But I don't consider myself a "daily painter". I paint almost everyday, but I don't always post.

  4. I agree with the ladies above; beautiful painting, Azra! I love everything about it!

Decades ago, I graduated with my degree in art, but in the process of trying to make a living, I stopped painting. Occasionally, I would pick up my pencils and draw, but after so much time away from my brushes, painting was just too daunting. In 2010, I stumbled upon our beloved Carol Marine and Lisa Daria's blogs, and my passion was reborn.

After attending a wonderful workshop with Page Railsback and Lisa Daria, I began painting again (and blogging) in August of 2010. Like you, it is a source of joy for me. And I so appreciate you and my sweet artist friends. Like Karla said, your encouragement keeps me going. Thank you!

  5. You have painted a rich, delicious pear. Love your choice of colors - so bold and beautiful.

I have been painting only since 2010. (I left it off when I began raising a family, because my oldest daughter would use my oil painted canvases as finger paints. :(

  6. Great choice of colors Azra, both for the pear and the background.

I started painting as a child but took it seriously only in 2010 and since then have tried so many new medium and techniques that it is more like a passion now.
I started blogging in September 2010, when I came across the blogs of some wonderful artists. They simply inspired me to get back to my art and share it with others. It has been a great journey ever since.

  7. Hi Azra, I love you pear with the rich colors and how it sits there so proud, great job!

I've been busy with other things lately and have not had the time or courage to paint...we're going on a trip soon so it'll be a few weeks before I get back to it too!

I've been painting since about 2007 but only started blogging in 2010. I took a workshop with Carol Marine and although I already had a blog, I started updating it regularly after the workshop. I wish I would have a group of painters to paint with on a regular basis here but haven't found one yet, thank goodness for blogs so that I don't feel so lonely all the time!

  8. Dear Azra:) You peer is really wonderful. Great beautiful warm colours and stylish painted!
In 2003 I was heavily depressed. I have been in therapy. During the occupational therapy I came in touch with watercolors. So watercolours means a lot for me. Now I still find my rest in it and it works still therapeutic:)In 2011 I started blogging. I don't know how I've come into contact with it. However, I had never expected that I would get so many sweet and fine virtual family. I had already not even expected that people would go see my blog. Blogging has taken a permanent place in my life!

    Wish you a lovely week!

  10. Hi Azra, Beautiful color in your pear! Art has always been a part of my life... sometimes a small part and sometimes more, but always there. I just started painting and blogging eight months ago. I love the whole "daily painter" movement and it's a perfect fit for me. I'm thankful every day for the opportunity to do this and for my virtual family of other wonderful artists around the world... like you! I get frustrated sometimes that I have other obligations pulling me away from my studio.

  11. This pear is one of your best! What presence! (pearsence?)
Painting and art as a serious pursuit since about 18 yrs old, interspersed with a whole other professional career...taking classes with Tom Edgerton, posting in my blog (spring 2011), following and being inspired by other other artist's blogs (like yours), Daily Paintworks, the Portrait Society of America...all part of my art life.
