Larger Than Life

What is it to be "larger than life" ?
Sometimes a title comes to my mind before I paint and other times, like this painting I looked at it and felt that the sunflower wants to come out of the canvas and be more than it is. When I paint I feel larger than life. How does painting make you feel?

  1. Hi Azra. Love the blue and its reflections. And you are so right, painting does make one feel larger than life. :)

  2. Have always loved your titles and thoughts on what you paint, this one as well! Painting each piece technically makes me feel I am a beginner, emotionally I feel I spent a lovely time that defines me as a person.

    1. Thanks Padmaja, I agree, it is hard every time, I suppose if it wasn't a challenge we might not be so addicted.

  3. What a lovely combination. Two of my fav colors together.
Can you believe we both did a single flower in glass, facing the same way too ,AND on the same day!!!. We must be tuned into the same art spirit.
Yours at least is finished and I am still thinking about mine.

  4. To me it is the same, my paintings just don't seem to want to stay within the canvas ! Love the richness of this sun flower and the two colors together are super !
