Sometimes you catch the edge of a scent from the past
, or a combination of colours that remind you of a childhood dress that you loved so much. This painting is a celebration of those memories.
I read somewhere that the area of the brain which processes scents is close to the memory area, which is why a scent can take us back so quickly. I love how you've indicated the complexity of roses in so few strokes.
