Deepest Red

These roses are such a dark red colour, in places they look almost black.
I've found that most roses don't get much past the bud stage, I don't know how they are being grown and picked but they never seem to fully open up like garden grown roses, which is a little disappointing when I would like to paint them during all the different stages.

The weather here is magnificent in all its glory, wind and rain with autumn leaves blowing in all directions.

  1. That's really lovely Azra. I like the way you've softened and blurred the furtherest roses. I wish we had some magnificent rain.

  4. Oh so lovely. It's less and less common for me to see any flower and not wonder what you might do with it. ♥

  7. Painted beautifully even though as you say they are not at different stages of opening! I to find this very frustrating ........why don't they open to show off their beauty? Nevertheless ...... A lovely painting Azra !
