Winter Landscape, Norfolk by Edward Seago |
I have admired the work of Edward Seago for the last few years and have been doing a little research on his life. He was an English artist, he worked in both oils and watercolours, his style was impressionist and he painted mostly landscapes. He was loved by the Royal family and the public would que for his exhibitions and always sold out. He was a prolific artist and has more than 19,000 paintings in circulation worldwide. He was self taught which is what impresses and inspires me because I have no formal education in art.
I've been so busy with family that I've missed your last few postings! Terrific! And I personally LOVE the sketching bug! It's like an itch that needs to be scratched! ;)
ReplyDeleteI agree. : )
DeleteGreat sketch Azra! I want to do more sketching too. I just bought a terrific book on drawing. I don't know if you are familiar with it : 'Sketching from Square One to Trafalgar Square', by Richard E Scott.
ReplyDeleteSelf taught artists impress me too, I have no formal training either.
Thanks Helen, I've just looked up this book and it looks really interesting, I am tempted to buy it.
