My Pisho

The four month old kitten my husband rescued about sixteen months ago died Friday night, killed by a car. She has been a huge part of our lives, my constant companion. I can honestly say that I have never felt so much pain. I see her everywhere, every corner of the house, the garden. She was fun loving and fearless, she fought the neighbourhood cats who were bigger than her. Our older cat is missing her too, they did not always see eye to eye, but were together.
When my husband brought her home she was a little scrap of a thing and clung to me for dear life. I fed her, groomed her, got her medication when she needed it, bought toys and played with her these long winter nights when it was too cold and wet to be out.
She has left a huge hole in my life, I can't get my head around the fact that she will never sit in my lap, follow me around the house, run up and down the garden, lay on my chest with her face so close to mine.
My Pisho

  1. Azra, my heart is crying for you! It's hard to lose a friend like that and in a sudden and shocking way. I am sending you a hug and keeping Pisho in mind, too.

  3. Azra, my darling! I'm so, so terribly sorry. I had a 'tortie' years ago, just like Pisho, and she was a beautiful little sweetie - just like Pisho. It is real pain when they pass as they are not just pets; they are so loyal and they always accept you however you are. I pray for your comfort and peace. I'm so sorry. Much love, Sharon xx

  4. Our ability to love is what makes us human, and our ability to bear the pain when those we love pass. A beautiful soul. Never far away, Tracyx

  5. Poor Azra, I understand your pain. We lost our "Gribouille" last year and it's always a big pain, but now I can talk about him without strangling me with my sobs ... Courage !

  15. Dear dear Azra. Your words made me feel said. I wish I could take away your grief. But words are not enough. This will take a lot of time to take away the grief. Remember Pisho in your heart. I wish you a lot of strenght.
