Wild Ones II

SOLD
Its taking me a bit of time to get used to posting everyday again. One thing I have noticed is I want to take more time over each painting than before. Not necessarily more brushstrokes but thinking about each mark I make and trying to make them count.

I found  these flowers growing wild in between the paving and I felt I wanted to give them as much importance as any cultivated flower.

Nevertheless IV

The lillies I bought  eleven days ago are now past their best but still beautiful.
I find with  flowers if you cut the stem really short it makes them last at least four days longer.

Pink and Orange

I have a set of feather butterflies I bought to add to my flower arrangements and they come in blue which I've used before, but I also have pink, yellow, orange and a peachy colour. To me butterflies mean summer, sunshine,a clean environment otherwise such delicate creatures would not exist.

I'm beginning to realise that my mood does affect how I paint, like today I feel quite relaxed,I've been listening to David Bowie  Sound and Vision.Just enjoying the process of painting and not worrying too much about the outcome.

Daffs in Pasta Sauce Jar

Yes,this jar had pasta sauce in it and has been recycled  : )) I thought I was done with daffodils for this year but I'm very lucky to know a kind and generous florist, who gave me a huge bunch of these spring flowers.
Its such a beautiful day,19 degrees and winter seems far away. There are blossoms everywhere ,I really need to get out there and take some pictures.
I've picked up a palette knife for the first time and played around a little, its certainly a more random way of working  ,but fun.

Tulip in Glass Jar

An artist never really finishes his work,he merely abandons it.This is a quote by Paul Valery, who obviously knew  what he was talking about!!!!

Forsythia in Glass Jar

"Happy are the painters, for they shall not be lonely .Light and colour, peace and hope, will keep them company till the end of the day."  Winston Churchill

Forsythia and Plums

nfs
Well my wish came true.My lovely friend Ann very kindly gave me some forsythia from her garden .Its such a beautiful flowering plant and its one of the first signs that spring is on its way.The last time I painted forsythia was when I was at school. My friend and classmate Katherine and I used to go into the fields surrounding the school and paint.Mostly we ended up doing more talking than painting ,but our teacher never used to mind too much! Ahh ....happy days.
