Autumn Hydrangea

A couple of years ago the kids gave me a small hydrangea plant, its now a gorgeous large bush and has been happily blooming all summer in my front garden.Recently the colours have been changing and it looks even more interesting.

"Now Autumn's fire burns slowly along the woods and day by day the leaves fall and melt."

  1. I love your hydrangea painting, Azra. Not only is it a beautiful work, but it reminds me of a plant that I had for years. I loved that they bloomed for a long time and then changed colors. I especially liked the green color they change to in late fall. I would cut them then, and dry them for Christmas wreaths, and winter bouquets.

  2. What a great painting! I love the thick paint in places. I also love that quote. I have never heard that before.

  3. This is lovely, Azra - especially the beautifully transparent green glass bottle that holds your hydrangea!

  9. I've been trying to grow hydrangeas for years but the deer have managed to eat them before they bloom. This year I found some smelly stuff which seems to have saved them-next year I hope to have blooms to paint. Lovely painting.

  10. Thanks Chris, how fortunate you are to have deer roaming about, shame that they eat the hydrangea!Sounds like you've found a solution though.
