Spring in a vase

Grocery shopping also means shopping for my next daily painting. So when I saw a small bunch of barely open daffodils and very cheap as well, how could I resist.
In the last year I've all but forgotten clothes shopping,shoes,make-up.... ,its all about art materials, props, museum visits to London.Do you think I'm going a bit too deep into this consuming passion for painting ,should there be a balance somewhere??

  1. I know what you mean about shopping, Azra, it is the same here! :0)

  2. No!!!! Who needs balance??? We can all live on ART alone!!! Just kidding. I think as an artist you do have to be consumed by art if it's your passion. Regardless of whether life's daily grind gets in the way art is always on my mind. By the way this piece came out fabulous. again you nailed the reflections and distortions very well.

  3. This really is Spring in a vase. I love the daffodils! Great job on the glass vase, too.

Regarding balance, I have yet to achieve that myself. Either life gets in the way of painting, or painting, etc. occupies all of my free time. I just try to get up each day and do my best. Hopefully, it will all work out in the end. :)

  4. Dear Azra. This post made me smile, because I too forgot about clothes and shoes and think about art most of the time :-) As you say it is all about paper , colors, brushes....so you see, you are not alone :-) Your daffodils are beautifully painted and displayed, good you didn't resist buying them! Keep painting:-))
