Chicken Licken II

Painting birds of any description is a real pleasure.These hens belong to some friends of ours and they are treated like beloved pets.This one struck a pose for me so how could I not paint her.

My confidence is building,I don't feel such a fraud when anyone calls me an artist.I don't look around to see where the artist is! I have hope in my heart that one day I will be a full time artist and make a living out of this occupation that is the most wonderful of obsessions.

    I just love chickens! I too like the oil best. And, I totally understand the thing about being called an artist. It's a big step but clearly you're ready to own the title.:)

    Your birds are so charming and fun! I like this series very much. I could see them all framed and lined up on the wall. They would be wonderful!
