The Cliffs at Etretat After Claude Monet

This months challenge for  Painting from the Masters is a beautiful painting by Claude Monet. I thoroughly enjoyed painting this one, thanks for the challenge Karen D'Angeac Mihm.

  3. It is lovely, Azra - and I particularly like the pinkish/purple (mauve??) against the brilliant blue.

  4. Gorgeous Azra. Someone from my France workshop recently told me that copying the masters is excellent practice as they've already done the simplifying for you, so it helps train you gauge values and color. Seeing this convinces me to try it, either Monet or Sargent I think. Thanks for the inspiration once again! :)
