Down But Not Out
I'm still waiting to hear from the gentleman who wanted a comission.Part of me knows that he probably does not want to go ahead, for whatever reason, maybe he was'nt serious to start with.I don't know.My will to paint has taken a bit of a nosedive, but I forced myself to paint this simple apple just to get me back into the saddle.Perhaps my feelings show in the painting, all I know is I just have to keep going.

Very appetizing apple with a beautiful light. Your deep feelings seem to be very optimistic :) Keep painting, Azra!
ReplyDeleteOh Azra, you've just hit a bump in the road. You paint beautifully, so follow your will. That gentleman isn't "out" until he definitely says "No". In the meantime, try to face your fears and keep painting. I have seen you paint very well under a challenge. Paint something beautiful, my friend -- and enjoy the process!
ReplyDeleteThat's a beautiful apple Azra! Cheer up, you are a great person and artist, whether you get the commission or not. :))
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry that you're not having the best of weeks, Azra. You have a great attitude, though. I think we all feel frustrated and discouraged at times. I sure do, but we just have to persevere. You hang in there and keep painting. All of the rest will take care of itself. And I happen to love this apple painting. I really enjoy the colorful apple against the graphic black & white pattern. Nice!
ReplyDeleteStay positive Azra! You don't know yet so don't let the wait eat at you. And no this piece is lovely. Keep going keep painting if this one slips by another opportunity will arise. All we can do is keep painting. Good luck my friend.
ReplyDeleteOf course you have to keep going Azra, don't let one disappointment let you down!! There will be other commissions, and maybe this person will turn up, just keep painting. This apple is very pretty, you chose bright and happy color s, so your disappointment didn't show for sure in this painting. xox
ReplyDeleteI like the loose brushtrokes on this apple Azra! I know what you mean about pushing yourself...sometimes I get down also about the painting. I have to keep reminding myself to paint for me and not anyone else! Good luck!
ReplyDeleteAzra, this is a lovely painting and it caught my eye right away! You have such a nice way of organizing and designing the composition. We all go through the ups and downs...just keep painting!!:)
ReplyDeleteI agree with the others on their thoughts and Az, this is a beautiful painting! A hug across the pond for you my friend.
ReplyDeleteI KNOW you will keep painting. One happy day you won't be waiting on people to contact you, they will be waiting to hear from YOU on when you can manage to get their commission in your schedule because you have so many! Beautiful apple and I love that graphic background, too!
ReplyDeleteThe minute you forget about it, it will happen ;)
xx and big hugs,
Jaime
Thankyou so much Maga,Linda,Robie,Darla,Giselle,Jane,Karen D,Linda,Karen S,and Jaime!!
ReplyDeleteI appreciate all the encouragement and good wishes from all of you.
Hugs to you all. : )
For real, there is a serious epidemic lately. Artists are stuck in ruts all over the place right now. I think it's the "late-February doldrums". We had a chain of holidays and activity through fall and winter, and now the soul needs a breather. Don't let it get you down, Azra - this too shall pass. And commissions are stressful and not so much fun to paint anyway; it's a weird combo of thankful willingness to please combined with angsty visions of what you could be painting otherwise. But I am happy and inspired to see you pressing on - I love this painting and reading your post, it does say something about your feelings. Lots of contrasts happening in color, value, background vs foreground. I love it. So I will end this lengthy post with the encouragement you've given to me many times before: I can't wait to see more - keep going! ♥♥♥
ReplyDeleteLovely apple, Azra! It is a bit of a roller coaster ride when someone expresses an interest in purchasing your work, or commissioning work...and then after you send them the information they never respond. To those people who took the time to respond after I provided the information - I always make sure to thank them for getting back to me even if they changed their mind. The nice thing is that there are many more positive experiences than negative. Don't ever let this affect the way you feel about your beautiful work!
ReplyDeletewonderful Azra !
