Strawberries on Pink
I loved painting these strawberries and fabric background .I used my camera to find a view I liked ,its much easier than a viewfinder.

Crossed peppers
I vow to use my camera more from today.I've hardly used it and realise there's a wealth of images I'm missing out on.I took this photo and this view is not something I would normally have chosen, but it works.

Carnation in a Bottle 2
I've gone a bit mad with the colour ,but I find myself being influenced by the gorgeous weather .I was talking to my cousin last week and he remembers me painting as a kid and watching me lost in my own little world.Nothing has changed!!

Two For Joy
Every time I see a lovely sunset from our back garden I run outside and take a picture. This sunset was taken last month and I 've been meaning to paint it.The two birds in the tree are magpies and there's a rhyme that goes like this: One for sorrow,Two for joy,Three for a girl and Four for a boy,Five for silver,Six for gold,Seven for a secret never to be told.

Cup of Gerbera
What I have been trying to do all along is to give my work movement and rough edges and a sense of drama.I think I'm getting there, but the saucer......................will I be able to resist correcting it!

Red Apple on Green Scarf
The artist is nothing without the gift, but the gift is nothing without hard work. This is a quote by Emile Zola.I feel I have alot of work ahead of me !

An artist never really finishes his work,he merely abandons it.This is a quote by Paul Valery, who obviously knew what he was talking about!!!!

Artichoke 4
I think thats enough of the artichokes, for a while anyway.I've enjoyed painting them because they do have such a strong structure and great colours.I've bought a bunch of tulips in four colours which will hopefully keep me busy for a while.Although I did want to do one more forsythia painting before they disappear for another year.

Purple Artichoke 3
There's something comforting about rain on Sunday.......A nice quiet day at home with the family and time to paint.........Everly Brothers in the background......bliss.

Daffs in Cream Jug
I new these daffodils would'nt last another day so I thought I would do one more painting and this little jug has been calling to me for weeks .Ever heard of George Mc Crae?...."Rock your Baby"........The first time I heard this was in a school assembly,I can't remember why they played it but I thought I was in heaven.

Purple Artichoke 2
I have been listening to Adele "someone like you" all day.Her voice is how I imagine Vincent van Gogh's paintings would sound if they were music.....rich with colour and texture and such emotion.Does that make sense?? I usually prefer to mix my colours but I bought this colour called burgundy and its so lovely I know I will be using it again.

Purple Artichoke
I love, love ,loved painting this artichoke. There are so many colours that work harmoniously in this gorgeous vegetable. Is'nt nature amazing. So is David Bowie and that wonderful song "Sound and Vision",a real classic.Music is part of the whole experience when I'm painting and I am so grateful that I have both as part of my life. Oh, by the way my lovely friend Tracy gave me a whole bunch of these artichokes ,so a Big Thankyou to her. : ))

Abraham Lincoln
I have been umming and ahring about this weeks challenge since Saturday. My heart kind of sank because figurative work is just not something that I am interested in at the moment ,but as a challenge I felt finally that I should give it my best. This weeks challenge was Abraham Lincoln, the sixteenth president of the United States. He is best known for the abolition of slavery and for that alone its been a pleasure to paint his likeness. You can see all the entries on http://www.dailypaintworks.com/

Daffs in Blue Jug
The jug I'm happy with, the flowers...not so sure, but I got to a stage when I thought thats enough.I've been missing a few days painting here and there, the reason being I'm lacking in iron and energy is very low.Hopefully I will be starting my medication tomorrow and should be back to normal soon. : ))

Apple Trio 2
Confucius was a chinese philosopher and sometimes I go back to his words of wisdom for some direction. One thing he said was "it does'nt matter how slowly you go as long as you do not stop".Just keep going.
At the moment I am so drawn to these red apples and have this compulsion to paint them .I think I know a little of what kept Cezanne going!

Plum Chutney
I only had an hour and a half to paint today so a very quick study of what was available.I'm not altogether happy with this ,but did'nt want to miss another day without posting.I might polish this one up or do a better version at some point.Although I've thought of doing that alot of times but never really found the motivation to do it.I think in future I will.
